I became pastor of May Memorial Church in September, 2011, when my family and I moved to the wonderful Powhatan community. My responsiblities include preaching, teaching, pastoral care, worship planning, and leading the church into living as God’s people.
I hold seminary degrees from both Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Columbia Presbyterian Theological Seminary (D.Min.). I am a native of Goldsboro, NC, and moved to Powhatan after serving Benson Baptist Church for eleven years.
I am married to Beverley, who is Director of Music and Organist at Bon Air United Methodist Church as well as an Adjust Professor in the Music Department at Longwood University. Beverley and I have three wonderful daughters, Anna, a Campbell University graduate and Social Worker with CPS, Sophie, a Junior Music Education Major (violin) at Longwood University, and Laura, a tenth grader at Powhatan High School. My family has been embraced by the May Memorial family over the past thirteen years, and through their love we have seen an example of welcome and authentic community.
I enjoy reading, jogging, and coaching girls softball.
